Dear Ronaldo,

We have been kindly asked to share this great opportunity with Brazilian alumni.

The Brazilian Government has recently launched two thousand new scholarships for the Programme of “Sandwich” PhD Abroad (PDSE). The initiative allows students who are currently enrolled on a PhD in Brazil to attain part of their courses at higher education institutions abroad.

To be eligible for the scholarship, prospective applicants must prove a certain level of qualification in order to get the most of the opportunity and be able to deepen the theoretical  knowledge and partially develop the experimental stage of their thesis to be presented in Brazil. More than 2180 courses are included in the programme.

Successful applicants are entitled to full tuition scholarship, health insurance, transportation and accommodation assistance and an additional stipend, when applicable. Students can stay abroad for up to 12 months.

To find out more about this fantastic initiative please visit the Ministry of Education site:Ministry of Education (in Portuguese).

Kind regards,

David Fosu
