PREVENTION OF ILLICIT DRUGS– WHAT WORKS?

Drug abuse is spreading and low-resource countries are being increasingly affected. To reverse this development, parents and caregivers need to stay informed and up-to-date with the latest trends of drug abuse.

Some of the interventions that are currently undertaken may not be appropriate. Also, novel evidence-based interventions are not spreading fast enough to effectively benefit the African children, who often are out of school and scattered in rural areas and urban centers.

The webinar will be presented by Mr. Rogers Kasirye, board member of WFAD representing Africa.

Mr. Kasirye has spent the last 20 years working with street and slum youth affected by drug abuse in Uganda and East Africa. His aim is to help increase awareness and understanding among practitioners and parents, on how to address drug abuse. In this webinar, he will share his experience and open up a discussion around the subject.

The webinar will be held June 19, 2pm GMT.
